HTC has never been a huge player in the Windows Phone game, but the company has been steadily releasing new Windows Phone hardware throughout the platform’s life. It looks like that’s going to continue with Windows 10.
Chia-Lin Chang, HTC’s CFO, is said to have revealed that his company is working closely with Microsoft on a new Windows 10 device in the run-up to the release of the update. No other details on the HTC device were revealed, but Chang apparently told Windows Central that more information will be revealed at the end of the second quarter or the start of the third (so late June or early July).
With its previous Windows Phone flagship, HTC basically just took its Android-powered One M8 and swapped Google’s operating system out for Microsoft’s. It remains to be seen whether or not HTC will follow a similar strategy with its first Windows 10 device, but a Windows 10-powered One M9 wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world.
