Verizon has begun updating another phone to support its new 5G Nationwide network.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 is now getting an update from Verizon that bumps it to version F916USQU1BTJB. This update includes the October 2020 Android security patches and enables support for Verizon's 5G Nationwide network that launched last month.
The 5G Nationwide network uses low-band spectrum and while it isn't as fast as Verizon's 5G Ultra Wideband coverage, which uses high-band millimeter wave spectrum, the 5G Nationwide network can cover much longer distances. 5G Nationwide coverage is available in more than 1,800 cities and towns.
Verizon has been busy updating many of its phones in the past month since it launched 5G Nationwide coverage. We've already seen several Samsung phones get updates to enable 5G Nationwide support, including the S20 and Note 20 phones, and the LG V60 and Velvet have also been upgraded. Now we can add the foldable Galaxy Z Fold 2 to the list as well.
