Last year, U.S. Cellular launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and it followed that by releasing the Galaxy Note Edge in early 2015. And if you’re a U.S. Cellular customer that decided to upgrade to one of Samsung’s new phablets, you’re going to get Lollipop starting today.
U.S. Cellular has updated its Android Downloads page with the news that both its Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Edge are getting updated to Android 5.0.1. The updates will bump the Note 4 to N910R4TYU1BOC4 and the Note Edge to N915R4TYU1BOC5, and they’ll bring an updated user interface with Material Design touches, multiple user support, improved performance, and more.
To upgrade your U.S. Cellular Note 4 or Note Edge to Android 5.0.1, you can grab your phone and head into Settings > About Device > Software Update. Just be aware that the update weighs in at more than 1GB, so you’re going to need to be on Wi-Fi to download it. You can also plug your phone into your computer and run Samsung Kies if you prefer that update method.
