The Moto G Google Play edition may have survived the Play Store purge of July 2014, but apparently its time has now come to an end.
Google has removed the Moto G Google Play edition from the Play Store’s virtual shelves, simply saying that the device “is no longer available for sale.” As of this writing, the HTC One (M8) GPe is the last Google Play edition device left in the Play Store.
The Moto G Google Play edition launched nearly one year ago for $179, and it recently got an update to Android 5.0.1. With the number of GPe devices in the Play Store dwindling, it’s unclear exactly how much support the Google Play edition program see in the form of new future devices. If you really want one of your own, you may want to grab that HTC One (M8) GPe as soon as possible.
