Amazon is selling the Fire phone for $189 without a commitment today, January 7. Every purchase includes one free year of Amazon Prime, which includes free two-day shipping, Prime Instant Video, Prime Music, and more. The unlocked Fire phone is a GSM device and will work with AT&T, T-Mobile, and several GSM prepaid carriers.
Many have called the Amazon Fire phone one of the biggest disappointments of 2014, and while it may not have been one of the better Android devices when it launched, Amazon has been working to improve the Fire phone since. A recent major software update brought new features like Best Shot, the ability to block phone numbers, support for custom ringtones, more lock screen controls, and lots of bug fixes and user interface improvements.
