ZTE today introduced its newest Android phone, and if you’re a fan of affordable phablets, you’re going to want to check it out.
The ZTE ZMAX Pro will officially launch at MetroPCS on August 1 at a price of $99 after instant rebate. If you pre-register before July 31 and then buy the ZMAX Pro, MetroPCS will give you a free leather case that can also be used as a kickstand, which ought to come in handy when you’re watching video on the ZMAX Pro’s big display.
“How big is it?” you ask. The ZMAX Pro has a 6-inch 1920x1080 display, making it one of the larger Android phones on the market. ZTE has also included a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase detection autofocus, and a USB Type-C 2.0 port so that you don’t have to worry about inserting your charging cable the wrong way.
Inside of the ZMAX Pro lives a hexa-core Snapdragon 617 processor, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and a microSD slot for adding more storage. Powering the whole package is a 3400mAh battery. Rounding out the ZMAX Pro’s feature set is support for LTE bands 2, 4, and 12 with 2/4+12 and 4+4 carrier aggregation, VoLTE, and HD Voice.
On paper, the ZTE ZMAX Pro looks like a great addition to MetroPCS’s lineup. It may not be the most high-end phone around, but its spec list is respectable for a mid-range phone, especially when you consider that the ZMAX Pro will cost you just $99. So if you’re into phones with huge screens, you may want to give the Android 6.0-powered ZMAX Pro a look when it launches next month.
