UPDATE: Apple also revealed today that in the first half of 2016, it saw more people switch to iOS from Android or other platofrms than in any other 6-month period. Apple also said that Apple Music now has 13 million subscribers. To compare, a report from January 2016 said that Apple Music had 10 million subscribers at that time.
We’re now knee-deep in earnings season, and today Apple revealed the results for the second quarter of its fiscal 2016.
Apple reports that it sold 51.2 million iPhones during Q2 FY16, which is the three-month period that came to an end on March 26. To compare, Apple sold 61.2 million iPhones one year ago in Q2 FY15.
Meanwhile, Apple says that it sold 10.3 million iPads in Q2 FY16, down from 12.6 million in Q2 FY15. Mac sales for Q2 FY16 finished at 4.0 million, down from 4.6 million in Q2 FY15.
Moving over to financials, Apple posted a Q2 FY16 revenue of $50.6 billion and a net income of $10.5 billion. In Q2 FY15, those numbers were $58 billion and $13.6 million, respectively.
