Last month, Nextbit teased an update for its Robin that would improve the phone’s camera performance. That update is now ready to go.
The Nextbit Robin’s big update will bump the phone to Android 6.0.1, complete with April’s security patch and upgraded emoji. Nextbit has also thrown in more processor tuning to improve battery life and performance, and there’s some new sound tuning to make the Robin sound better through its built-in speakers and its headphone jack.
There’s also those camera improvements that Nextbit previously teased. The camera has been tuned and the camera app overhauled, and Nextbit says that those improvements should yield better photos and “much faster” performance.
Today’s update sounds like a huge one for the Nextbit Robin. Not only does it bring the Robin up to the latest public version of Android, but it brings some greatly improved camera performance. For many folks, their smartphone camera is their only camera, so it’s important for their phone to have good camera performance. And with today’s update, Robin owners are getting a better camera.
The Nextbit Robin’s update is rolling out over the air starting today, April 27.
Nextbit today also announced a collaboration with headphone company AIAIAI. This partnership has brought about a custom pair of AIAIAI TMA-2 Headphones that are now available for $225, as well as the launch of a curated ringtone series that’ll see Nextbit and AIAIAI team up with musicians to create soothing ringtones. The first two ringtones from DJs Giraffage and Lauren Lo Sung are now available for download.
