Apparently ZTE and Cricket liked working together on the ZTE Grand X Max that launched in 2014, because today the two companies announced that they’ve teamed up again on a new phablet.

The ZTE Grand X Max+ features a 6-inch HD display on its face, which is the same size as the original Grand X Max, but it’s got some upgraded cameras over its predecessor. While the original Grand X Max had 8-megapixel rear and 1-megapixel front cams, the Grand X Max+ is toting a 13-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front-facing shooter with a wide-angle lens.

Packed inside of the ZTE Grand X Max+’s body is a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 2GB of RAM, and a 3200mAh battery. That means that the new model has double the storage and RAM over the original device. Finally,  ZTE has opted to include Dolby Audio support with the Grand X Max+ for “premium sound.”

The ZTE Grand X Max+ will launch at Cricket on January 9 with 4G LTE and a price tag of $199.99 without a contract. Overall it looks like a nice upgrade over the original Grand X Max, offering LTE connectivity and several beefed up specs for the same price.
