We already know that Sony’s Xperia Z3 family will be updated to Android 5.0 sometime early this year, but it’s not clear exactly when that push will begin. Well today the window was narrowed down quite a bit.

Sony announced at its CES 2015 press conference that the Xperia Z3 line will begin to get its Android 5.0 Lollipop updates next month. A precise start date still isn’t known, but this February release window is much smaller than the early 2015 one that we had previously.

While Android 5.0 has been available to several Nexus and Google Play edition devices for some time now, we haven’t seen it roll out to many other phones or tablets yet. That makes the news that the Xperia Z3 family will start getting their Lollipop treats next month all the more exciting.
