I don’t know if you’ve checked a calendar yet today, but just in case you haven’t, it’s now April 11. That means that the Samsung Galaxy S5 and its wearable Gear siblings are now making their way onto store shelves.
Samsung says that the Galaxy S5, Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo and Gear Fit will be hitting stores in 125 countries around the globe, including the U.S., Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and several Asian locales. If you’re heading out to pick up one of these four devices today, here are the color options that you’ll have to choose from:
To celebrate the launch of its new hardware, Samsung has launched a new TV commercial around the globe known as “My Life Powered by Galaxy S5.” The company is also giving Galaxy S5 and other Galaxy users an exclusive version of FIFA 14 that includes the Galaxy 11 team. This group consists of several world-class soccer players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.
The Galaxy S5 is the latest model in Samsung’s line of flagship Android smartphones. It sports a 5.1-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 16-megapixel rear and 2.1-megapixel front cameras and a cornucopia of custom software features.
In the U.S., the Galaxy S5 will be offered by AT&T, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular and Verizon. Many of those operators will be offering Samsung’s new Gear wearables as well, meaning that you’ll likely only need to make one stop to get yourself Galaxy’d today. Before you head out, though, be sure to check out our Galaxy S5 review to prepare yourself for Samsung’s next big thing!
