Shortly after the Samsung Galaxy S5 made its official debut, Boost Mobile announced that it would offer the new flagship sometime in the second quarter of 2014. That release window has now gotten a bit smaller with the launch of Boost’s Galaxy S5 pre-registration page.
Boost Mobile has confirmed that it will begin sales of the Samsung Galaxy S5 in May 2014. The Sprint MVNO hasn’t said what the S5 will cost at launch, but because Boost Mobile doesn’t deal in subsidies or contracts, don’t be surprised if the device ends up coming in at or near its full retail price.
The Galaxy S5 may be hitting Boost Mobile a little later than other carriers, it’s still great to see that Samsung’s new flagship will eventually make its way to Boost, especially since the S 4 was a no-show on the prepaid carrier. The Boost version of the S5 is likely to be similar to the Sprint model, complete with a 5.1-inch 1080p display, 16-megapixel rear camera and compatibility with Sprint’s tri-band LTE Spark service.
