To celebrate Thanksgiving, Verizon let anyone sign up for 1GB of extra data for two billing cycles. Now Big Red has revealed that it’s giving out 2GB of extra data for life, but only certain customers qualify.

Starting today, Verizon customers that add a line or upgrade on an XL or XXL plan can get 2GB of extra data every month. This applies to each line of a family plan, so a family of four that each upgrades can get a total of 8GB extra to share across devices. The XL plan includes 12GB of data each month, while the XXL offer 18GB per month.

This offer is valid starting today, December 3, and it’ll run through January 6.

Extra data is always nice, and 2GB per line is a significant amount to get added onto your allotment every month for life. You will have to add a line or upgrade an existing line to get the extra gigs, but because the offer is running for a full month, you’ve got some time to become upgrade-eligible or find someone that wants to join your account.
