Today Verizon’s XLTE service is officially one year old, and the big red carrier is celebrating by launching XLTE in six new markets.
Starting today, Verizon XLTE service is available in Madisonville, Ky.; Marshalltown, Iowa; Martinsville, Va.; Meridian, Miss.; Owensboro, Ky.; and Traverse City, Mich. Verizon says that XLTE is now live in more than 400 markets across the U.S.
Verizon XLTE service offers increased bandwidth over its standard 4G LTE offering, giving increased data speeds to customers with XLTE-compatible devices. There are currently more than 40 Verizon devices that are XLTE-ready, including many recent devices like the Motorola DROID Turbo, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Samsung Galaxy S6, Apple iPhone 6, and Apple iPhone 6 Plus.
