AT&T’s got a new tablet launching this week, and it’s notable because it’s the big blue carrier’s first own-brand tablet.
The AT&T Trek HD runs Android 5.0 on an 8-inch HD (so possibly 1280x720 resolution) display, and it’s powered by a combination of a 1.6GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and a 4060mAh battery. Also included with the Trek HD is a 5-megapixel rear camera, 2-megapixel front-facing shooter, 16GB of storage, and a microSD slot that supports cards up to 32GB in size.
The Trek HD will hit AT&T’s online store on May 12, and it’ll be available in stores on May 15. Pricing will be set at $49.99 with a two-year contract or 20 monthly payments of $10 each on an AT&T Tablet installment plan. AT&T Mobile Share Value customers can add the Trek HD to their plan for $10 per month.
With its 8-inch screen size and affordable price, the AT&T Trek HD looks aimed at consumers that want a small tablet that they can toss in a bag and take with them wherever they go. If that sounds like a tablet that you want, you can check out the Trek HD for yourself later this week.
