For just shy of one month, the Samsung Galaxy S III has been the undisputed champion of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert's Chart. However, this week, in an unexpected turn of events, the HTC One X has returned to the #1 spot in a tie with the Samsung Galaxy S III. What will be the factor to break the deadlock?

PLEASANT, SC - Setting the standard for ranking the best smartphones in the mobile market, PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) puts voting in the hands of readers and experts alike. The competition between two rival devices hit a new high in week 22. More than doubling the votes for the HTC One X, the Samsung Galaxy S III was the clear winner in the People's Choice Chart. Meanwhile, in the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III ended in a tie for the week, each with 39 points.
For over two months, the HTC One X has remained in second place in the People's Choice Chart, fighting off several exchanges in the #3 spot. Narrowing the gap from last week to only 12 points, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (global) came in third for week 22. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the Apple iPhone 4S trailed the HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S III by only four points for the #2 spot. In third, the Samsung Galaxy S III (global) trailed the Apple iPhone 4S by 17 points.
