For week 23 of PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™, the Samsung Galaxy S III took its place at #1 in both the People's Choice Chart and Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, marking the fifth consecutive week that it has topped both charts and breaking last week's tie with the HTC One X. What will it take to oust the Samsung Galaxy S III? The Apple iPhone 5? The Samsung Galaxy Note II? Windows Phone 8?
MT. PLEASANT, SC - PhoneDog Media's Official Smartphone Rankings™ (OSR) continues to set the bar in ranking the market's latest and greatest smartphones, allowing both readers and experts to vote for and rank their favorite handsets. For week 23, the Samsung Galaxy S III proved its dominance in the People's Choice Chart, beating the HTC One X by 150 votes. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, with 50 total points, the Samsung Galaxy S III broke last week's tie with the HTC One X and beat it by a full 10 points.
For the past nine weeks, the HTC One X has remained in second place in the People's Choice Chart and it shows no sign of going anywhere any time soon. In third, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus (global) trailed the One X by 46 votes. In the Mobile Tech Expert's Chart, the HTC One X slipped from the two-way tie for first into second place with 37 points. And the Apple iPhone 4S dropped from the #2 spot to third with 30 points. With 17 points, the Samsung Galaxy S III (global) fell from third to the #4 position.
“While the fight for first place continues between the Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X, the historically frantic fall season is sure to bring surprises," said Aaron Baker, Editor-in-Chief of PhoneDog.
