Walmart Pay has been expanding quite a bit lately, and today the retailer-specific payment service has gotten its biggest expansion yet.
Walmart Pay is now live in several states across the U.S. The latest group of states to gain Walmart Pay includes Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. The service is included in all of the stores in each state, including the more than 40 stores in Nebraska and and the more than 90 stores in Kentucky.
To use Walmart Pay, you’ll need the Walmart app for Android and iOS. Once you’re in the store and at the register, you launch the Walmart app and select Walmart Pay. You’ll then activate your phone’s camera, scan the code displayed on the register, and then you’ll be good to go. Once you’re done, you’ll get a digital receipt in your Walmart app.
As I said before, Walmart Pay has been expanding quickly lately. Today’s expansion comes just one week after the last one, when Walmart Pay launched in Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi. It’s kind of disappointing that Walmart still hasn’t adopted Android Pay and Apple Pay, opting instead to push its own payment service, but at least the company appears committed to getting Walmart Pay to all of its customers in a speedy manner.
