Many device makers upload their custom Android apps to Google Play for easy updating, and today Samsung has done just that with one of its TouchWiz apps.
Samsung Music is now on Google Play, offering audio playback, tabbed navigation, and support for formats like MP3, WMA, AAC, and FLAC. Also included is interactivity with Samsung smart devices like tablets, TVs (DLNA and screen mirroring), and wearables, and Samsung says that the app’s user interface is “clean and intuitive.”
To install this app, you’re going to need a Samsung device, and it looks like it’ll need to be running Android 6.0. Odds are that any device that could download Samsung Music from Google Play came with the app preinstalled, but now that the app is in Google Play, Samsung can easily push updates to the app without having to roll a complete OS upgrade out to its devices.
