Google today made Android Pay a more appealing service by adding support for buying things inside of Android apps. Now it’s launched a new promo to get you to try Android Pay out in the world.
Google today kicked off a new promotion that’ll give you a $20 Best Buy e-gift card for using Android Pay at a store that accepts contactless payments. All that you have to do is head to a merchant that accepts NFC payments by December 31 and then Google will add a $20 Best Buy card to your Android Pay app by January 31.
Only Nexus devices are eligible for the promo, so you’ll need a Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 7, Nexus 9, Nexus 5X, or Nexus 6P running Android 4.4 or higher to get the $20 Best Buy gift card. Google also notes that supplies are limited, so if you want the free Best Buy money, you should use Android Pay sooner rather than later.
Getting $20 for just using Android Pay seems like a nice deal, especially since there’s no minimum that you have to spend to get the Best Buy gift card. For example, you could go to Walgreens and buy a pack of gum or bottle of soda, or visit Panera and buy a cup of coffee. So if you’ve got an eligible Nexus device, you may want to head to one of these shops and get yourself a treat so that you can secure your Best Buy gift card.
