The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL have been dominating the Windows 10 Mobile rumor mill lately, but those aren’t the only new phones that Microsoft is working on. Today a new leak gives us a peek at an upcoming device that’s at the opposite end of Microsoft’s product lineup.
Images of what’s said to be Microsoft’s Lumia 550 have been leaked by WMPoweruser and OneTile. The images show a device that looks kind of like a generic Lumia phone, offering a colorful shell, on-screen navigation buttons, and Windows 10 Mobile. The phone is shown in white, black, red, and blue.
In terms of specs, the Lumia 550 is rumored to have a 4.7-inch 1280x720 AMOLED display, quad-core Snapdragon 210 processor, 8GB of storage, a microSD slot, 4G LTE, and metal around its display. Windows Central also claims that the 550 will have a front-facing flash, but the devices in these renders don’t appear to have that feature.
Judging by these leaks, the Lumia 550 looks like another affordable Windows smartphone from Microsoft. That’s not terribly exciting for the spec hounds out there, but Microsoft is also interested in serving developing markets with low-cost smartphones, and that’s exactly what the purpose of this Lumia 550 will be.
