Xiaomi is a company known for packing solid specs into smartphones that are super-affordable, and today Xiaomi has done it again with the Mi 4c.
The Xiaomi Mi 4c runs Android on a 5-inch 1920x1080 that includes a feature called Sunlight Display that adjusts the screen so that its readable outdoors in the sunlight. The Mi 4c can also use its Night Reading Mode feature to dim the display so that you’re not blinded by the light at night. Two other new Mi 4c features include Edge Tap, which will let you tap the edge of the screen once to take a selfie or twice to go back in the browser.
Around back of the Mi 4c is a 13-megapixel camera with a Sony IMX258/Samsung S5K3M2 ISOCELL sensor, two-tone flash, and phase detection autofocus. On the front is a 5-megapixel wide-angle camera. And on the bottom of the Mi 4c lives a reversible USB Type-C port. One other notable feature on the Mi 4c’s body is an infrared remote control that’ll let you control your TV with your phone.
Inside the Mi 4c’s color body lives a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB/3GB of RAM, 16GB/32GB of storage, dual SIM slots, and a 3080mAh battery with Quick Charge 2.0. The Mi 4c’s shell measures 138.1 x 69.6 x 7.8mm.
The Xiaomi Mi 4c will be sold in white, black, blue, pink, and yellow color options. Pricing will be set at ￥1,299 ($204 USD) for the 2GB/16GB model and ￥1,499 ($235 USD) for the 3GB/32GB version.
The Mi 4c looks like another solid, affordable Android phone from Xiaomi. It’s got a clean, attractive body that’s available in several colors, a respectable Snapdragon 808 processor, and a 5-inch 1080p display that might not be as high-res as other phones, but that ought to look nice given its size. All of that in a package that starts at $204? The Mi 4c looks like an awesome deal, but like most of Xiaomi’s great and affordable hardware, the Mi 4c looks like it won’t be available outside of China.
