Yesterday iTunes 12.2 rolled out with support for Apple Music, enabling the streaming service on the desktop. Apparently that’s not the only newness that iTunes 12.2 brought, though.
It’s been discovered that iTunes 12.2 includes images of new iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod shuffle colors. Specifically, there are shots of gold, dark blue, and dark pink products. Apple does currently sell blue and pink iPod hardware, but the iPods in iTunes 12.2 are a bit darker than the current products.
Outside of the new colors, there don’t appear to be any big hardware differences with these new models, but it’s not known if the internals of the devices are changing at all.
It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen any iPod refreshes from Apple. And while a lot of people probably rely on smartphones for their music needs, there are still some folks that like little iPods for working out or other activities in which a tiny music player is preferable to a big — and expensive — smartphone.
