In the days since its launch, the Alcatel OneTouch Idol 3 has been earning praise as a well-specced Android smartphone with an affordable price. Now Alcatel OneTouch is aiming at an even lower price point with its new handset for T-Mobile.
The Alcatel OneTouch POP Astro is launching at T-Mobile today for $0 down and 24 monthly installments of $6.24, which works out to be a full price of $149.76.
The POP Astro’s spec list includes a 4.5-inch 960x540 display, 1.5GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK6732 processor, 5-megapixel fixed focus rear camera, VGA front shooter, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of storage, and a microSD card slot. There’s also Android 4.4 and 4G LTE connectivity included, and Alcatel has thrown in a 2000mAh battery to power the whole package.
As a follow-up to the Alcatel OneTouch Fierce and Fierce 2, the POP Astro has one major addition that sets it apart: LTE. The POP Astro’s small screen could make it appealing to folks that value one-handed usability, too
