Back in March, we learned that luxury watch maker TAG Heuer would be teaming up with Google and Intel to create a new Android Wear smartwatch, but no other details about the device were available. Fast-forward to today and some additional information about the wearable is finally coming out.
The new TAG Heuer smartwatch will launch in “October or November” for approximately $1400, says Bloomberg. Spec details for the device are mostly up in the air, but it’s expected that the battery will last for around 40 hours on a single charge.
With a price tag of $1400, this TAG Heuer smartwatch will definitely be one of the most expensive Android Wear devices that we’ve seen to date. That’s not surprising since TAG Heuer is a luxury brand, though. While the TAG Heuer smartwatch likely won’t appeal to most folks that just want an Android Wear smartwatch, the fact that it carries the TAG Heuer brand could convince consumers interested in luxury products to go with Android Wear over competing devices like the Apple Watch.
