As smartphone cameras continue to improve, consumers are increasingly relying on their handset to be their sole photography tool. As a result, a smartphone’s cameras are one of the first features that are looked at when a new device is announced. Today BLU announced a new phone that’s all about its cameras.
The BLU Selfie is an Android smartphone that’s got a 13-megapixel camera on its rear and a 13-megapixel shooter on its face, too. Both cameras have Sony IMX135 sensors, f/2.0 apertures, 88-degree wide-angle lenses, and BLU Bright + Technology LED flash that offers “quasi-professional lighting.” The two cameras can also use BLU’s custom Final Touch software that gives your photos a “beautifying effect.”
BLU’s Selfie also offers a 4.7-inch 1280x720 display, 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek 6592 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, and a non-removable 2300mAh battery. It’s powered by Android 4.4 and is includes support for HSPA+ 850/1900 in the U.S. model or HSPA+ 850/2100 in the global version.
The BLU Selfie can be bought from Amazon today for $249 without a contract, and when you buy, you can choose from black, blue, and white color options.
Obviously the cameras are the main focus of the BLU Selfie, but it’s got some other features that are worth noting. For example, its 4.7-inch screen could make it worth a look for folks that want a smaller smartphone, and its $249 no-contract price make it an option for anyone that wants a new phone that’ll be easy on the wallet. If a smartphone’s camera, screen size, or price are important to you, you can get a closer look at the BLU Selfie and its “Add to Cart” button at the Amazon link below.
