Good news, Motorola device owners! It’s been revealed that several Moto devices are getting software updates starting today.
Motorola has announced that it’s now pushing Android 5.0 to the Moto G (2nd Gen.) in the U.S. and both the Moto G (2nd Gen.) and Moto G (1st Gen.) in India. This update is rolling out in phases.
Additionally, Republic Wireless says that it’s now sending Android 4.4.4 to both the Moto G and Moto E (the E is already on 4.4.4, but it is getting a security patch). The update will continue over the next week. Unfortunately, testing revealed a bug in the Moto X (1st Gen.)’s Android 4.4.4 update, and so Republic has to have it recertified. The X’s update is expected to arrive in February.
If you’re rocking one of these Moto devices, you can check to see if you’ve got an update waiting for you by heading into Settings > About phone > System updates.
