We’ve seen several leaks lately that claim to show off the HTC One (M9), but today a new rumor claims that HTC is actually using a decoy case to test its next Android flagship without revealing its final design.
According to a source speaking to HTC Source, the final HTC One (M9) will more closely resemble the Desire 826 that debuted earlier this month. It’s said that the One (M9) will have BoomSound speaker slits sitting above and below its front glass panel — which is expected to be edge-to-edge — and the One (M9)’s front camera will reportedly be center near the top of the phone’s face.
While many folks likely would’ve been A-OK with largely reusing the One (M8) design on the (M9), this new design piques my interest. Using slits for the BoomSound speakers instead of a bunch of speaker holes could make the front of the phone look more clean, and the edge-to-edge glass panel will help with that too. March 1 can’t come soon enough.
What do you think of today’s rumor? Will you be pleased if the One (M9) ends up looking as described in this report?
