Motorola introduced a bevy of new products today, including the second-gen Moto X and Moto G models, the Moto Hint and the Power Pack Micro. Apparently that’s not enough newness for one day for Moto, though, as the company also launched a new wall charger.
The Motorola Turbo Charger is capable of charging “the latest Moto phones” — including the new Moto X — with up to 8 additional hours of battery life in 15 minutes. It does this using Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which is integrated into some Snapdragon-powered products and wall chargers. The Turbo Charger can provide up to 15 watts of charging speed for other Quick Charge 2.0-enabled devices.
Of course, since this is a microUSB wall charger, you can also juice up other products with it, they just won’t get the same speedy charging as Quick Charge-capable hardware.
The price of the Motorola Turbo Charger is set at $34.99, and the unit is listed as “coming soon.” While $35 may seem a bit pricey for a wall charger, if you’ve got a Quick Charge 2.0-enabled phone, the Turbo Charger could be a great way to quickly give yourself some juice without having to be tethered to a wall for an extended period of time.
