After leaking out left and right over the past couple of months, the HTC One remix for Verizon is now officially official.
The HTC One remix sports a 4.5-inch 720p display, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, 16GB of storage, a microSD slot with support for cards up to 128GB, a 2100mAh battery and Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Also included is a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor and a set of front-facing BoomSound speakers.
Verizon says that the HTC One remix will be available online and in stores on July 24 with XLTE support and a price of $99.99 with a two-year contract. Verizon Edge will also be available with the One remix, but Verizon hasn’t shared what that pricing will look like.
Just as expected, the HTC One remix looks to be a Verizon-flavored version of the HTC One Mini 2. It’s not clear why the Verizon device needed its own name, though I suspect that Verizon wanted to make its phone feel a bit more special. Oh well. What matters is that U.S. consumers will soon have access to the shrunken version of the HTC One (M8), which is nice because more choice is always a good thing.
