Hot on the heels of the debut of Samsung's Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO tablets, it looks like the company is getting ready to introduce a new slate that's on the opposite end of the feature spectrum.
Samsung Poland has posted a user manual for a new tablet with the model number SM-T110. Included with the manual are some basic diagrams of the device as well as a mention of microSD support. Meanwhile, Polish retailer X-KOM has product pages for two "Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite" slates with the model numbers SM-T110 and SM-T111, which are likely the Wi-Fi and 3G-enabled variants. For reference, the regular Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 is also known as the SM-T210. X-KOM's pricing for the SM-T110 and SM-T111 is set at 499 zl ($163 USD) and 799 zl ($261 USD), respectively.
This Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is listed as sporting a 7-inch 1024x600 display on its face and 2-megapixel camera on its rear. Inside of the unit is a 1.2GHz dual-core Marvell PXA986 processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and a 3600mAh battery. Rounding out the spec list is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean that lives underneath of Samsung's custom TouchWiz skin.
As I mentioned before, this Galaxy Tab 3 Lite sounds like a device that's the polar opposite of Samsung's new Galaxy NotePRO and TabPRO slates. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, as its small size and affordable price tag could make it a nice little tablet for consumers looking for a low-cost device or a cheap tablet that they can throw in a bag and not worry about. Samsung hasn't made any official announcements regarding this 7-inch slab, but with Mobile World Congress a little over a month away, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a formal introduction sooner rather than later.
