After being teased by Geeksphone a couple of times late last year, the OS-switching Revolution itself has finally been revealed.
The image, which Geeksphone has confirmed to The Next Web as being the real deal, depicts a handset with a design similar to the Geeksphone Peak, complete with two-tone white and black look. Beneath the Revolution's 4.7-inch 960x540 display lives a circular button with two small dot buttons on either side, and around back is unit's 8-megapixel camera with flash, a speaker and some Geeksphone and Intel branding.
The Revolution is notable because Geeksphone says that the device will be able to run Android and Firefox OS. Users will also be able to switch between the OSes without voiding their device's warranty. In addition to its 4.7-inch screen and 8-megapixel camera, the Revolution sports a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z2560 processor and 2000mAh battery.
Overall the Revolution looks like an interesting device. While its spec sheet isn't exactly bleeding edge, it looks like a respectable handset, and its ability to run two different mobile operating systems is a pretty intriguing feature that I'm betting will pique the interest of a few phone nerds. Geeksphone hasn't said when the Revolution will launch or what its pricing will look like, but hopefully now that we've finally gotten a peek at what the device will look like, the company will loosen up a bit and spill its availability details.
