Just around a week and a half after Sprint's flavor of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 was given a thumbs-up from the Federal Communications Commission, another Sprint-bound Samsung handset has earned its FCC stamp of approval. The mysterious device goes by the model number SPH-L500 and packs both CDMA/EV-DO connectivity as well as support for 4G LTE band 25, which is Sprint's preferred flavor of LTE. Other features of the device revealed in the FCC filing include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and Simultaneous Voice and LTE (SVLTE).

While the FCC's entry for the SPH-L500 doesn't come out and say what this handset is, Engadget notes that it does list the phone's dimensions, which are 133mm (around 5.24 in.) tall and 68mm (around 2.68 in.) wide. That means that the L500 is just a tad smaller than the Galaxy S III and its 136.6mm (5.38 in.) by 70.6 (2.78 in.) frame. Now we just have to wait for an official announcement from Sprint and Samsung to fill in the rest of the details about the device. Exactly when that'll is still up in the air, but now that the L500 has cleared the regulatory hurdle that is the FCC, it's one step closer to getting its own spot on Sprint's shelves.
