After starring in a few rumors as both the Nokia Laser and the Nokia Lumia 928, the upcoming Verizon Windows Phone 8 device has finally shown its face to the world. An image posted to Twitter by @evleaks has given us our first look at the Lumia 928, a variant of AT&T's Lumia 920 that will reportedly pack a 4.5-inch OLED display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB RAM and a PureView-branded camera that'll pack both xenon and LED flashes. We've also been told to expect support for simultaneous voice and data.
Moving on to the body that'll house all of those features, it's rumored that the Lumia 920 will measure in at 10.2mm thick, which is just a tad thinner than the 10.7mm body of the Lumia 920. Verizon has apparently opted to adorn both the front and rear of the Lumia 928 with its branding, which I suppose shouldn't come as much of a surprise given Big Red's other recent offerings. Finally, it's worth noting that while there's been no word yet on exactly which colors the Lumia 928 will be made available in, the fact that this is a Nokia-made Windows Phone device means that we can likely expect to see at least a couple of options other than the black that's shown in these images.
Verizon wasn't exactly known as the go-to carrier for a Windows Phone device back in the Windows Phone 7 days since it only ever offered a single WP7 device, but the carrier appears to have done a bit of a 180 with Windows Phone 8. It currently offers three WP8 models, including the mid-range Nokia Lumia 822, and soon that number will grow to four with the Lumia 928. It's expected that the 928 will be landing on Verizon shelves sometime later in April, so it may not be long before Big Red customers finally have a high-end Lumia model to call their own.
