Despite the fact that the Sony Xperia Z has been official for three months now, there's been no official word on when or if it (or its Xperia ZL brother) will be arriving on a U.S. carrier. However, a newly-leaked pair of images shows that the Xperia Z could eventually find a home on at least one major operator. TmoNews has gotten hold of an image of an Xperia Z lounging around in the wild with a T-Mobile tattoo on its lower back, and the site also says that it's been told by three separate sources that the phone formerly known as Yuga is indeed undergoing testing with Big Magenta.
It feels like it's been a while since we've seen a Sony smartphone on T-Mobile, or really on any carrier other than AT&T, but the Xperia Z seems like it'd be a good way for Sony to burst back onto the T-Mobile's shelves. I should note that TmoNews has been told that the Xperia Z is currently only in testing on T-Mobile, meaning that there's no guarantee that the handset will indeed be made available for purchase. It would definitely make a nice addition to T-Mobile's lineup alongside other high-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy S 4, HTC One and Apple iPhone 5, though, so any T-Mobile customers that are interested in the Xperia Z and its glass body should cross their fingers and toes in the hopes that T-Mo will clear a spot for the Z in its stores.
