Samsung's Galaxy S III may have recently hit the 20 million sold mark, but one company executive has revealed that he expects the device to hit another milestone before the year is done. J.K. Shin, head of Samsung's mobile arm, has told the Yonhap News Agency that he expects sales of the Galaxy S III to reach 30 million before the end of 2012. The S III isn't the only device that Shin has high expectations for, as he went on to say that the Galaxy Note II is likely to double the sales figures of its predecessor, which has sold over 10 million units.
The Samsung Galaxy S III launched internationally at the end of May, and by the time the end of July rolled around, the device had reached the 10 million units sold mark. It then exceeded sales of 20 million a little less than a week ago. Considering how well the S III has been selling thus far, and that it's available on multiple U.S. carriers and will soon be released in new colors, the 30 million units sold mark doesn't seem unattainable. Samsung's got around three and a half months left in 2012 to reach its goal, but it'll also likely have some new competition during that time, so we'll be watching to see if the S III can finish out the year strong.
