Own a Samsung Intercept on Sprint? If so, you'll want to keep an eye out for a new software update that'll be headed to your trusty slider in the next couple of days. Sprint has announced that the update, which is version S:M910.05.S.FB01, will begin rolling out to the Intercept on February 29th, aka Wednesday. The full changelog for the FB01 update looks like this:
Enhancements/Fixes:
So this update isn't the biggest we've ever seen, but it's good to see Sprint and Samsung continue to show some love to the Intercept. We've actually seen a several Sprint handsets receive security-related updates over the past couple of months that are thought to remove Carrier IQ, and it looks like the Intercept is the latest device to receive such an update.
As I mentioned before, Sprint says that the update will begin rolling out on the 29th, but it'll likely be pushed gradually over several days, so don't fret if it doesn't show up right away. If you've got an Intercept and want to check for FB01 when the 29th rolls around, you can head on in to Menu > Settings > About Phone > System updates > Update Firmware/Update Android to check for the new software manually.
