Last week a leaked image showed that Verizon may be planning to launch its 4G LTE-enabled Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 on March 1st, and now that information has been confirmed by Verizon. The carrier just announced that the LTE Galaxy Tab 7.7 will be released on March 1st, aka this Thursday, for $499.99 with a two-year contract. Customers will also need to sign up for a 4G LTE data plan, which starts out a $30 per month for 2GB of data.
As a quick spec refresher, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 features a 7.7-inch 1280x800 Super AMOLED Plus display, 3.2-megapixel rear camera with 720p video capture, 2-megapixel shooter around front, 16GB storage, microSD card slot and Android 3.2 Honeycomb. There's also a 1.4GHz dual-core processor under the hood. Verizon's Tab 7.7 supports 4G LTE connectivity, and can act as a mobile hotspot that allows for up to 10 Wi-Fi devices to connect to it at the same time. The only other 7-inch slate currently on Verizon's roster is the OG Galaxy Tab, so it's good to see the folks at Big Red add another 7-incher to its shelves, especially since its got LTE support on board.
