If you're hungry for iPhone and iPad news, then last Friday's PhoneDog Live is what you should be watching. As the rumored launch date for the iPad 3 nears, we're going to hear more and more speculation about its hardware. Last week we got a couple of new pictures that show a slightly larger camera lens hole. Does this mean that the iPad 3 will have a better camera, perhaps an 8-megapixel shooter? It could, and that's what we're hearing. We've also heard rumors that the iPad 3 will be slightly thicker than the previous model, and these new pictures seem to confirm that. It seems to be a negligible amount, but it will be difficult to tell until we get some hands-on time with it. As far as iPhone news goes, we got more word that it will be coming in the fall of this year, instead of the summer. It appears that Apple would like to stick to the once-a-year release timeframe and since last year's model was announced in the fall, it would make sense to launch the next one in the fall as well. In other big, non-Apple news, RIM released PlayBook OS 2.0 last week. This update brings several new, major features like native email support, native calendar support, folders, a new homescreen, an improved keyboard, and support for Android apps which can be found in the BlackBerry App World. Admittedly, these are features that the PlayBook should have had right from the beginning. Who knows why RIM decided to leave them out? At least they're here now. Do you have a PlayBook?
