Last month HP made the big decision to discontinue operations on webOS smartphones and tablets, but it looks like the company may not be done making changes just yet. According to sources speaking with Bloomberg, HP's board of directors is considering ousting CEO Leo Apotheker less than a year after he was appointed head of the company. It's not clear when or if the board will follow through on its plans or who may replace Apotheker if it does. However, one of the sources claims that former eBay CEO Meg Whitman is being considered as the successor to Apotheker.

Besides the discontinuation of webOS hardware, Leo Apotheker has been at the helm for a couple of other moves that haven't sat well with HP investors, including a $10.3 billion purchase of software company Autonomy Corp. that nearly all of the HP's investors reportedly feel the company is overpaying for. Whether or not Apotheker's ousting will have any effect on webOS remains to be seen, but you can bet that we'll be keeping a close eye on this going forward. Stay tuned.
