Boy, the lawsuits against AT&T's proposed acquisition of T-Mobile just keep on rolling in. Cellular South revealed today that it's filed suit against AT&T in an attempt to block the buyout of Deutsche Telekom-owned T-Mobile USA that was announced earlier this year. According to Eric Graham, Cellular South Vice President for Strategic & Government Relations, a combined AT&T/T-Mobile would "substantially lessen competition" and "essentially consolidate the market into the hands of the 'Big Two' – AT&T and Verizon." Additionally, the carrier believes that if the deal is approved, regional carriers will be unable to get the best products in a reasonable amount of time, force them to pay higher roaming prices, and reduce innovation and consumer choice.

This news comes after both the U.S. Department of Justice and Sprint have filed their own lawsuits against the AT&T/T-Mobile deal, both of which are listed as related cases in Cellular South's suit. A hearing to discuss a possible settlement between the Justice Department and AT&T has been set for September 21st, and by the sound of things, AT&T is going to do its darndest to get an agreement made. Anyone care to take a guess as to whether or not we'll see more suits brought against AT&T?
