Another day, another high-end Android device on Sprint! Since the international launch a few months back, we've been waiting for Samsung's Galaxy S II series to land in the United States. Fast dual-core processors, beautiful high-resolution displays, and thin form factors. What's not to like?
Verizon customers didn't get any love (this time around, at least), but AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile customers have their own Galaxy S II variants. Sprint's flavor is the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch, and it offers a dual-core 1.2 GHz Exynos processor, 4.52-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording, a front-facing shooter, 1,800 mAh battery, and Android 2.3.4 with TouchWiz 4.0. Performance is nearly identical to the international device, but the added screen real estate and battery capacity are excellent improvements. Plus, you can get it for $199.99 - far cheaper than the $650-$750 unsubsidized price.
It may be a bit awkward to hold in the hand, but the Super AMOLED Plus display is gorgeous, the 8-megapixel camera takes great still images, and TouchWiz 4.0 is a groundbreaking improvement over the past version. The software improvements combined with the dual-core processing power allow the Epic 4G Touch to soar to first place on our Top Smartphones list for Sprint.
Are you an Epic 4G Touch fan, or are you a loyal #TEAMEVO person? Or perhaps you're in love with the PHOTON 4G? We'd love to hear from you. Root for your favorite Sprint device in the comments section below!
