Ready to take part in a tablet-related mystery? Of course you are. Here's the story: T-Mobile was recently spotted filing for the trademark to the name "SnapPad," which the USPTO request shows will be used to describe a "tablet computer." Normally we wouldn't give a trademark filing a ton of attention, as companies often file for them and then do nothing with them, but T-Mo has also been grabbing various domain names containing the name "SnapPad," including SnapPad.biz, T-MobileSnapPad.com, TMobileSnapPad.net, and a gaggle of other, very similar names.
So what exactly is the SnapPad? Well, no one is quite sure yet, but the "Snap" portion of the name suggests that the slate could either snap closed or have a focus on taking photos. We'll keep you updated on the SnapPad as we learn more about it. In the mean time, why don't you go on ahead and drop your opinions on what exactly the SnapPad could be in the comments below?
