During the first keynote of Google I/O yesterday, it was revealed that Android 3.1 and its resizable widgets would begin rolling out to Verizon's version of the Motorola XOOM later in the day. Today Moto touched on the update a bit more, sharing more details on what enhancements the update contains as well as information on when the WiFi-only XOOM would get in on the 3.1 fun. According to Motorola, the Verizon XOOM's 3.1 update will be rolling out all of this week, so if you haven't gotten your own update yet, you should within the next few days. Folks using the WiFi-only XOOM will also be updated to Android 3.1 sometime "within the next several weeks." So what kinds of improvements does the new version of Honeycomb pack? Glad you asked:
All in all it sounds like a pretty awesome update for all of the XOOM users out there, although it's kind of a bummer that owners of the WiFi-only model will have to wait a little longer than users of Verizon's version for the newest Honeycomb goodness. So, Verizon XOOM owners, have you gotten the 3.1 update yet? If so, how are you liking all of its new features?
