It's been a while since we've heard anything about Nokia's Meego-powered N9, but today the handset, also known as the RM-680, was spotted getting approval in the FCC. Once thought to be cancelled, the FCC approved the N9 to be compatible with a bevy of GSM and WCDMA bands, including to enable 3G on both AT&T and T-Mobile here in the U.S. There's not much more info contained in the filing thanks to Nokia's request for confidentiality, but it's worth noting that that request will expire on June 24th, so we may hear more about the N9 around that date.

As a quick refresher, the N9's rumored spec list includes features like a 4-inch 800x480 OLED display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM, 64GB of internal memory, 720p video capture, a sliding physical QWERTY keyboard, and an all-metal body that's been described as "near perfect." Although that list of specs isn't quite as impressive today as it was when we first heard it back in August of last year, the N9 still seems like a good all-around handset, if that spec list is true, anyway. Of course, the presence of Meego could be a deal breaker for some, especially since the OS was called "experimental" when Nokia adopted Windows Phone 7 earlier this year.
