It appears that AT&T's Android lineup is about to grow by one thanks to manufacturer Pantech, A recent FCC filing shows a rendering of the Pantech P8000, a candybar phone with ATT's 850MHz and 1900MHz frequency bands. There's not much information beyond that, but the Bluetooth Special Interest Group has given a little more data: the P8000 is codenamed "Moon" and runs Android.
Before all of you AT&T Android fanatics get too worked up about the P8000, it's worth noting that we still don't know exactly when the thing is going to launch. The fact that it's passed the FCC could be an indication that it'll be launching soon, perhaps as soon as the first quarter of next year, but nothing is set in stone. It'll probably be more of an entry-level device, but I'm sure that there will be at least a few AT&T customers welcoming the P8000 with open arms.
