OnePlus recently revealed a limited edition blacked-out OnePlus 3T, but the only way to get it was to travel to the Colette store in Paris, France. The good news for those of us unable to make that journey is that OnePlus will soon offer more blacked-out 3T phones.
OnePlus says that its Midnight Black OnePlus 3T will be available as part of an online pop-up event as part of a partnership with Hypebeast. There will be 250 phones available and you’ll be able to get them at 4:00 pm GMT on March 24 at https://hbx.com.
If you don’t snag a Midnight Black OnePlus 3T during this event, OnePlus does say that it’ll offer the murdered out phone to North American and European shoppers on OnePlus.net. These devices will be available for a limited time and will go on sale on an unspecified date.
The Midnight Black OnePlus 3T will cost $479 USD/€479 EUR/£439 GBP. It’s similar to the limited edition Colette OnePlus 3T, but without the Colette branding on the backside.
OnePlus says that it tested more than 30 color iterations to get the perfect blacked-out look with this 3T. Each phone gets three dark coatings that are 14 microns thick as well as two sandblasting treatments to get the right look. OnePlus also adds an anti-fingerprint treatment so that your device doesn’t get covered in prints as soon as you take it out of the box.
This Midnight Black OnePlus 3T looks pretty slick, and it’s nice to see that OnePlus is making it more widely available so that those of us unable to travel to Paris on short notice can get a murdered out phone, too. This version is still likely to be limited, though, so if you want one, stay tuned and we’ll update you when we know more about its release on OnePlus.net.
