The Typo Keyboard gave iPhone users a BlackBerry-like physical keyboard, but apparently it was too BlackBerry-like for BlackBerry, because the smartphone maker sued Typo Products and eventually reached a settlement that saw the end of the Typo Keyboard. It looks like Samsung liked the idea, though, because a new leak has shown that the company may be prepping a similar product.
A new image shared by Evan Blass claims to shown a Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ with a “keyboard cover.” The bottom of the cover includes a physical keyboard, complete with three Android navigation buttons, We can also see some protective corners of a case in the upper left and right parts of the image, suggesting that the keyboard cover will offer some protection to the phone in addition to giving it a physical keyboard.

It’s not known when this keyboard cover might be available or how much it’ll cost when it launches. It’s definitely…interesting to look at, though, and it gives Android fans a physical keyboard, which nowadays is a pretty rare thing outside of BlackBerrys. You’ll just have to make your already large phone slightly larger in exchange for those physical keys.
