Earlier this week, some leaked images gave us a glimpse at the Verizon Moto G inside of a Best Buy location, complete with its retail packaging and $99.99 price tag. Now a Best Buy spokesperson has come forward to confirm that the Big Red-flavored Moto G is indeed making its way into his company's stores, and what's more, it'll be available for purchase as soon as it lands on shelves.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Best Buy spokesperson Jonathan Sandler says that the Verizon Moto G is "currently landing in stores" and that the device "is available for sale as soon as it arrives." Pricing for Verizon's prepaid Moto G is $99.99 without a contract, a full $80 less than Motorola is asking for the GSM variant of its Moto G.
The Moto G features a 4.5-inch 720p display, 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 5-megapixel rear and 1.3-megapixel front cameras and a 2070mAh battery. While it's not quite as high-end as its Moto X sibling, the Moto G is still a respectable Android 4.4 device, especially when compared to the other smartphones that are being sold for $100 without a contract. Taking into consideration all of that as well as the fact that Motorola has been pretty on the ball with its Android OS updates lately, the Moto G is a pretty nice deal for any Verizon customer looking to take the prepaid plunge.
