If you're in the market for a new iPhone, you may want to think about giving your local Walmart store a call. A photo sent to Cult of Mac shows that at least one Walmart store in Edmund, Oklahoma has lowered the price of the 8GB iPhone 4 and 16GB iPhone 4S to just $34 and $114.00, respectively. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that every Walmart is currently offering the iPhones at these discounted prices. The Verge placed calls to six different Walmarts across the U.S. and found that only one (located in Austin, Texas) had knocked the iPhone 4S's price to $114, while no stores offered the lower pricing on the iPhone 4.
Currently AT&T is pricing the 8GB iPhone 4 and 16GB iPhone 4S at $99.99 and $199.99, so these discounted Walmart prices are pretty good deals for anyone thinking about snagging either handset. The only problem is finding a Walmart that'll honor these prices. It's not clear exactly how long this deal may last, so you may want to grab that phonebook (you know, that big book that's full of numbers and collecting dust in the corner) and get to calling to see if a Walmart near you has knocked down the prices of its iPhones. Be sure to let us know if you get lucky!
UPDATE: Bad news, friends. Walmart has issued a statement on the situation to 9to5 Mac, explaining that it "experienced a pricing error in limited stores" yesterday and that the problem has been addressed. Pricing for the iPhones Walmart should now be back to normal.
